MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Two judges vying for a spot on the state Supreme Court raised roughly the same amount of money during the second half of 2018.
State Appeals Court Chief Judge Lisa Neubauer issued a news release on Thursday saying she had raised around $325,000 and had more than $570,000 on hand by Jan. 1. The release didn’t offer exact figures. Neubauer’s campaign manager, Tyler Hendricks, didn’t immediately respond to an email.
State Appeals Court Judge Brian Hagedorn released a report Thursday showing he had raised $310,629 over the period and had $281,089 on hand.
Neubauer and Hagedorn are battling to replace the retiring Justice Shirley Abrahamson in an April 2 election. The race is officially nonpartisan but liberals are backing Neubauer and conservatives support Hagedorn.
