The Madison firm DeWitt Ross & Stevens and its affiliate, the Minnesota firm DeWitt Mackall Crounse & Moore, have been re-organized into a single entity called DeWitt.

The change took effect Tuesday, according to a news release.

“Reorganizing our two entities into DeWitt LLP follows our strategic business goals and is also conducive to a more effective branding strategy by creating a consistent corporate identity across our markets,” said Bradley Fulton, DeWitt president and managing partner, in a statement.

DeWitt was founded in 1903 and is the oldest law firm in Madison. In the last several years, the firm has expanded into Minnesota and expanded its office in metropolitan Milwaukee to be one of the largest in Waukesha County.

DeWitt has nearly 140 attorneys practicing in Madison, metropolitan Milwaukee and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The firm’s practice areas include corporate law, estate planning, litigation and intellectual-property law.
