Rose Reitz joined Quarles & Brady as a legal secretary in 1986 and said she was fortunate to work for a litigation attorney who asked her to do more than secretarial work to help prepare cases for the courtroom.

“I really liked being a part of the litigation team, keeping things organized and preparing for trial,” she said, adding she was promoted a decade later to working as a paralegal for the firm’s Product Liability Team. “I love digging for information and finding relevant facts on a case. Documents will always tell the story, and I enjoy going through those documents and finding out what that story is.”

Jeff Spoerk, chairman of the firm’s product liability national practice group and a partner, said Reitz’s diligence and experience are among the reasons she has served several of the firm’s most prominent clients for many years.

“Attorneys seek her out for her excellent organizational skills,” he said. “Rose is able to distill complex and voluminous data, helping to uncover the truth and build compelling arguments.”

Beyond her work on demanding cases, Reitz makes time for pro bono matters and to help out in the firm’s restraining-order clinic. She also oversees newer members of her client-service teams.

Pat Nolan, a partner at Quarles & Brady, has worked with Reitz for the past 17 years and said she is a big reason for the firm’s success. He called her work “exemplary” and said he admires her tireless work, attention to detail and true knack for organizing vast amounts of information to simplify the most complex matters.

“But Rose’s most endearing qualities are her unfailingly friendly demeanor and good cheer, even in the face of tremendous litigation pressures or personal adversity. I can always look forward to Rose’s completely selfless attitude, her true service mentality and how she consistently asks me ‘how can I help you today?’ when we meet,” Nolan said. “For good reason, Rose is universally loved by co-workers and clients and even by the most difficult litigation adversaries. She is respectful, kind and polite to a fault. Her sense of humor and can-do attitude are always present.”
