MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An 18-year-old man has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting a Fort Atkinson man in the parking lot of a Fitchburg apartment building last March.

Joshua McInnis was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide Tuesday in a deal with prosecutors. Charges of first-degree intentional homicide and armed robbery, as well as a child abuse charge from another case were dismissed.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports McInnis was 17 when he shot and killed 20-year-old Julian Patterson outside the New Fountains Apartments.

Prosecutors say McInnis, Travon Jackson and Gary Mays robbed the victim and his girlfriend of some marijuana.
Jackson pleaded guilty to charges in July and was sentenced to five years in prison. Mays is scheduled for trial next month.
