FITCHBURG, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court has reprimanded the mayor of Fitchburg’s for his legal work on behalf of two clients.
The court determined Mayor Jason Gonzalez committed five counts of professional misconduct as an attorney. He was ordered to pay about $9,700 to the Office of Lawyer Regulation within 60 days.
One complaint filed in November 2016 is related to Gonzalez’ handling of a drunken driving case and other citations. The second complaint involves his handling of a child sexual assault and enticement case in 2013.
Gonzalez’s license to practice law was not suspended.
