FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — A judge has sentenced a businessman to more than a decade in prison for scheming to bilk a Fond du Lac firm out of $14 million.

Fond du Lac County Circuit Judge Robert Wirtz on Wednesday sentenced Sterling Kienbaum of Oshkosh to 11 years in prison and three years of extended supervision. Kienbaum pleaded no contest in January to racketeering and theft by false representation.

Prosecutors say Kienbaum ran Fox Valley Iron & Metal and paid employees as Sadoff Iron & Metal to accept scrap vehicles filled with dirt, falsely inflating reports of the metal content between 2009 and 2015. Two Sadoff workers were convicted and given probation.

Kienbaum paid $6 million in restitution before he was sentenced.
