Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a Husch Blackwell lawyer to fill Judge Rebecca Dallet’s spot on the Milwaukee County bench.

Walker announced on Thursday that he had chosen Andrew Jones to take Dallet’s place on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Dallet resigned after being elected in April to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Jones, who earned his law degree at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1994, is a partner at Husch Blackwell’s Milwaukee office. He advises companies, government entities and individuals on constitutional, employment-compliance, land-use and litigation matters.

Before working at the firm, Jones was assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Law Department.
