Biden endorses Kaul in Wisconsin attorney general race

Listen to this articleMADISON, Wis. (AP) — Former Vice President Joe Biden is endorsing the Democrat Josh Kaul in Wisconsin’s attorney-general race.
Kaul’s campaign announced the endorsement in a news release on Thursday. The news release quotes Biden saying that Kaul will fight the opioid epidemic, has spoken out about the state Department of Justice’s delays in testing unanalyzed sexual-assault kits and will stand up for affordable health-insurance coverage.
Kaul is the son of former Democratic Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager. He’s scheduled to face Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel in the general election scheduled for Nov. 6.
Johnny Koremenos, campaign manager for Schimel, said Kaul’s a partisan activist so it should be no surprise that national activists want to install him as attorney general.
