MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Justice has set up a new database that the public can use to track sex offenses in Wisconsin.

Attorney General Brad Schimel said in a news release on Tuesday that the database will make the system easier to use for citizens, policymakers and researchers.

Users can view the number and rate of offenses that have been committed in each county in Wisconsin, learn whether weapons were used, see information about victims and offenders and learn what relationships existed between victims and offenders. The data were collected between 2013 and 2017.

Users can access the database at https://www.doj.state.wi.us/dles/bjia/ucr-sex-offense-data .
