GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A man accused of driving drunk and killing a mother and daughter walking along a road in Brown County has been convicted.

David Meyer changed his plea from not guilty to no contest in Brown County Circuit Court on Tuesday. WLUK-TV reports Meyer was convicted of two counts of homicide by use of a vehicle while two other counts were dismissed, but will be considered at sentencing.

Forty-four-year-old Rebecca Pennenberg and her 18-year-old daughter Raelia were walking along French Road in Lawrence on Aug. 17 when they were struck and killed.

Court documents say Meyer’s blood alcohol content was .21, more than twice the legal limit for driving at the time of the crash. Meyer faces a maximum 50 years in prison when he’s sentenced Sept. 11.
