Chief Judge Jennifer Dorow announced Thursday that the county circuit court judges had unanimously selected Gina Colletti to fill a spot vacated by Kathy Madden, who recently resigned to work outside of Wisconsin.

Colletti starts March 5 and would have to run in a partisan election on Nov. 6 in order to keep the seat for the rest of Madden’s term, which ends Jan. 9, 2019, according to a news release.

Colletti was recently a case administrator, courtroom deputy and judicial assistant in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Before that, she was a legal assistant at Milwaukee-based O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing and spent five years as an assistant to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
