Charlie Sykes to visit Marquette University Law School

The political commentator, author and former radio show host Charlie Sykes will be visiting Marquette University Law School.

Sykes will talk about his new book, conservatism and American politics at a coming session of “On the Issues with Mike Gousha.” The event will take place from from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 26 in the Lubar Center at the law school’s Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St., Milwaukee.

Sykes was the host of a Milwaukee-based radio talk show for more than 20 years, becoming one of the most influential conservative voices in Wisconsin. His interview with then-candidate Donald Trump before the state’s primary election in 2016 made national news and transformed his career.

Sykes is now a political commentator for MSNBC. He has been the host of a radio show based in New York and written for publications such as the New York Times, Politico and the National Review.

He is also the author of eight books. His ninth one, “How the Right Lost Its Mind,” will be released Oct. 3

Gousha, a broadcast journalist, is the Law School’s distinguished fellow in law and public policy. His “On the Issues” series features conversations with leading scholars and other about law and public policy matters.
