President Donald Trump has nominated Waushara County’s district attorney to be the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin.

Scott Blader has been the district attorney in Waushara County since 2007. Before that, he was a criminal litigator at Blader Law Office in Wautoma. Blader earned his degree from Marquette University Law School in 1999.

The spot was previously held by John Vaudreuil, who resigned in March, as is customary when a new presidential administration takes over. U.S. Senators Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson had recommended Blader and Jackson County District Attorney Gerald Fox for the position in June.

Blader’s nomination won’t be official until it’s confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
