The Wisconsin Supreme Court kicked off its new term by reinstating the law license of a former Trempealeau County lawyer.
The high court had suspended David Moss’s license in 2014 for two years over 35 counts of misconduct when he had a law office in Galesville. The court more than doubled the disciplinary measures that both the Office of Lawyer Regulation and the referee had recommended in the case.
Moss filed for reinstatement last year, and a public hearing in the matter was held in April. The referee James Boll had recommended in May that Moss’s license be reinstated with certain conditions, including that Moss continue the counseling, treatment and medication he is taking to manage his bipolar disorder, provide the OLR with quarterly reports from his doctor and therapist and pay the cost of the reinstatement proceedings.
The justices agreed with Boll on Wednesday in a per curiam decision.
Moss, who now lives in Washington state, has said that he plans to practice immigration law in Seattle and might return to Wisconsin to practice law in Green Bay. Follow @erikastrebel
