Walker appoints corporation counsel to Rock County bench

Gov. Scott Walker has tapped a long-time corporation counsel to fill a spot on the Rock County bench.

Walker announced Wednesday that he had appointed Jeff Kuglitsch to take over Judge Michael Fitzpatrick’s post. Fitzpatrick was elected to the state Court of Appeals in the spring.

Kuglitsch has been corporation counsel for Rock County since 2007. Before that, he spent 13 years as corporation counsel for Shawano County and two years as corporation counsel for Vilas County.

Kuglitsch, who graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1988, lives in Janesville.
