Two personal-injury firms merge, add lawyer

The Madison-based firm Gingras, Cates & Luebke has merged with Eau Claire-based Richie, Wickstrom & Wachs.

The merger is effective immediately and forms a new firm: Gingras Cates & Wachs, the firms announced Tuesday. Gingras, Cates & Wachs has 12 attorneys and offices in Madison, Eau Claire and Waukesha.

Mark Thomsen, a lawyer formerly at Brookfield-based Cannon & Dunphy, has also joined the firm. Thomsen,who graduated from Marquette Law School in 1987, has been practicing law for more than 30 years in the Milwaukee area.

Thomsen will be working out of the new firm’s Waukesha office.
