HUDSON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin jury has convicted a 38-year-old man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her daughter and setting their New Richmond home on fire last year.

The St. Croix County jury on Tuesday found Cristian Nunez guilty of two counts of first-degree homicide in the stabbing deaths of 30-year-old Courtney Bradford and her 10-year-old daughter, Jasmine.

Investigators said Nunez fatally stabbed Bradford and her daughter before burning their bodies in September 2015. Authorities say he then stole Bradford’s car and bank card, and booked a flight to El Paso, Texas, where he was arrested the next morning.

WCCO-TV reports prosecutors contended Nunez was mad that Bradford was dating other men. The defense argued that no DNA, blood or fingerprints were ever found that connected Nunez to the crime.
