Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a prosecutor and court commissioner to fill spots on benches in Chippewa and Jefferson counties.

Walker on Wednesday announced that he had appointed Robert Dehring to the Jefferson County Circuit Court. Dehring will replace Judge David Wambach, who is retiring.

Dehring is a court commissioner in Waukesha County. He was previously a court commissioner and assistant corporation counsel in Jefferson County, as well as a child support attorney in Racine County.

Dehring earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Walker also announced that he had appointed Chippewa County District Attorney Steven Gibbs to fill a spot on the county’s circuit court. Gibbs will replace Judge Roderick Cameron. Walker appointed Gibbs to his DA post in 2012. Before that, Gibbs was in private practice for about 20 years.

He earned his law degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn.
