MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Wisconsin man accused of running a red light and slamming his SUV into a car, killing three passengers and injuring their Uber driver, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges.
The criminal complaint alleges 23-year-old Jasen Randhawa, of Mequon, was driving about 30 mph over the speed limit at the time of the crash in Milwaukee on Oct. 23. Three friends who worked at a Chicago ad agency were killed — 32-year-old Amy Taylor, 30-year-old Ashley Sawatzke and 35-year-old Lindsey Cohen. The Uber driver was seriously injured.
According to the complaint, Randhawa fled on foot and called a friend to tell him he had been in an accident and was drunk.
On Monday, Randhawa pleaded not guilty to a dozen felony counts including four counts of second-degree reckless homicide.
