ONEIDA, Wis. (AP) — Prosecutors in Outagamie County say an alcohol-fueled argument preceded the slaying of a couple on the Oneida Indian Reservation.

Bond was set at $1 million Monday when 19-year-old Vance Reed made an initial appearance in Outagamie County Circuit Court.

WLUK-TV reports Reed is facing two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in last month’s deaths of Harry and Lorraine Brown Bear. A prosecutor says the victims had several stab wounds. They were found in their duplex Sept. 14 when someone called police to check on their welfare.

Authorities say Reed was drinking with the couple the day the two were killed and got in an argument with them.
