WHITEWATER, Wis. (AP) — A former University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling coach is suing the athletic director and former chancellor for wrongful termination and defamation.
Tim Fader’s lawsuit says they pushed him out of his job after he reported a sexual assault allegation to police instead of university officials.
WISC-TV reports Fader’s lawsuit says a Whitewater wrestling recruit was accused of the sexual assault, but prosecutors declined to issue charges. Fader says he met with the athletic director and chancellor about the assault allegation in May 2014 and was told he violated university policy by going to police first before informing school officials.
Fader is seeking unspecified damages. A university spokeswoman declined to comment because the lawsuit is pending.
Fader is now the head wrestling coach at UW-Eau Claire.
