JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — A judge has ordered forced feeding to continue for a Waupun prison inmate who says the practice is punishment.

Cesar DeLeon and four other prisoners at the Waupun Correctional Institution have refused to eat since June 7 as a protest against long-term solitary confinement.

DeLeon petitioned the court asking a judge to stop a temporary order for involuntary feeding and hydrating. He says the tube feeding is being used for punitive, not medical purposes.

The Daily Citizen says Dodge County Circuit Judge Steve Bauer watched a video of DeLeon being tube fed Thursday and said he saw nothing punitive about the procedure. He ordered the force feeding to continue for DeLeon for up to six months.
