MILWAUKEE (AP) — A trial is set to begin in July for a Milwaukee man accused of fatally shooting a man, killing a 17-year-old girl who witnessed the slaying and trying to arrange another witness’ death.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that 34-year-old Antonio Smith is charged with killing Breanna Eskridge several days after she allegedly witnessed Smith kill Eddie Powe. He’s also charged with directing a plot to kill another witness of Powe’s killing.

Smith is scheduled to go on trial with his nephew, 22-year-old Shaheem Smith, who’s charged in the plot to kill the witness.

Antonio Smith’s girlfriend and friend have pleaded guilty in the plot and are expected to testify against him at trial.

His attorney says it’s been difficult arranging a time to meet with his client.
