A public hearing is set in a former Green Bay attorney’s second bid to regain his license.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Jevon Jaconi’s license in 2003 for one year for 20 counts of misconduct that involved mishandling several criminal cases and a divorce proceeding. According to the Supreme Court’s decision from that year, Jaconi repeatedly ignored clients, failed to refund client money and failed to adequately explain the proceedings of cases to the people he was representing.

In August 2013, Jaconi petitioned the Supreme Court to reinstate his license. But the justices, in October of the following year, denied the petition because Jaconi had not disclosed that he had not yet paid the entire restitution he was supposed to pay to former clients and the Wisconsin Lawyer’s Fund for Client Protection.

In December, Jaconi again petitioned the justices to reinstate his license.

A hearing on Jaconi’s second request is set for 10 a.m. July 13 at the Milwaukee Bar Association, 424 E. Wells St.

Anyone interested may appear at the hearing and speak in support or opposition of Jaconi’s reinstatement.
