MADISON, Wis. (AP) — After Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley left oral arguments early in February, her colleague Justice Ann Walsh Bradley labeled it an unusual occurrence.

But Walsh Bradley did the same thing a year ago, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Friday.

Rebecca Bradley has taken criticism for leaving oral arguments about 15 minutes early in February to speak at a Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce event. The group has spent heavily to support conservative judicial candidates in the past.

Walsh Bradley said it’s not common for justices to step away from arguments, but she did just that in February 2015 to speak at the Wisconsin Counties Association amid her run for re-election.

She said again Friday it’s highly unusual for justices to leave early but acknowledged she had done so.
