GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay man has reached a plea deal in a fatal shooting and a drug overdose death.

Thirty-one-year-old Matthew Moore pleaded no contest Tuesday in the 2012 shooting death of Thomas Wick. In exchange, prosecutors reduced a charge of first-degree intentional homicide to first-degree reckless homicide.

Wick was found dead in the basement of his Howard home. Prosecutors allege Moore and Katie Heller killed Wick because they didn’t have the money they owed him for a home. Heller is due back in court next month.

On Tuesday, Moore also pleaded no contest in the OD death of 29-year-old Spencer Patz in May 2013.

WLUK-TV reports prosecutors agreed to recommend Moore serve a combined 45 years in prison. But the judge could give him a stiffer sentence when he’s sentenced May 5.
