MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A 26-year-old Madison man who had been fired from a grocery store is charged in the fatal shooting of a former co-worker.
Christopher O’Kroley was charged Friday on charges of intentional homicide and reckless endangerment.
O’Kroley’s accused of killing Caroline Nosal on Tuesday in the store’s parking lot. He also allegedly shot at an officer.
A criminal complaint says O’Kroley told police he’s a “sociopath” and planned to kill the 24-year-old Nosal if he got fired, then kill himself. The Wisconsin State Journal reports O’Kroley told police he began planning the attack after he was suspended from Metro Market for harassing Nosal. He allegedly bought the gun Monday after his firing.
Court records show O’Kroley is represented by the public defender’s office. A message left there wasn’t immediately returned.
