GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Green Bay man is charged with fatally shooting an acquaintance in a dispute over drugs and money.
Twenty-eight-year-old Antwon Powell is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the Dec. 3 death of David Shorter. Prosecutors say Powell has accused the 32-year-old victim of breaking into his house and stealing money and marijuana.
According to a criminal complaint, the two argued by phone throughout the day until that night when Powell went to Shorter’s house and shot him as he stepped outside for a cigarette.
WLUK-TV reports Powell also faces charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Online court records do not list a defense attorney.
