MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Steven Avery’s nephew, convicted in the 2005 sexual assault and murder of Teresa Halbach, has been moved from the Green Bay Correctional Institution.

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections’ website shows Brendan Dassey is incarcerated at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage. WLUK-TV says Dassey had been at the prison in Allouez since 2009.

There’s no immediate word from corrections officials on why the 26-year-old Dassey was moved. Dassey and Avery were convicted in separate trials in 2007. Interest in the case has exploded recently with the recent release of the Netflix series “Making a Murderer.”

Avery is behind bars at the Waupun Correctional Institution and has no chance of parole. Dassey’s first shot at parole will come in 2048.
