Walker appoints former Ruder Ware partner to financial bureau

Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a former partner and shareholder at Ruder Ware to the state’s Department of Financial Institutions, which regulates the financial industry.

Lon Roberts will fill the secretary position at DFI left vacant by current secretary Ray Allen’s move to the state Department of Workforce Development, according to a new release.

Roberts retired from Ruder Ware in December. He was president and practiced business and commercial law, focusing on corporate mergers and acquisitions.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1973.
