MADISON, Wis. (AP) — It looks like the ballot is set for this spring’s state Supreme Court race.
The deadline for filing nomination papers was 5 p.m. Tuesday. Candidates for the high court had to submit at least 2,000 valid signatures to get on the ballot.
Government Accountability Board records show Joanne Kloppenburg filed 2,729 valid signatures on Dec. 28. Joe Donald filed 2,930 valid signatures on Monday. Rebecca Bradley filed papers Monday as well but GAB staffers were still verifying her signatures early Tuesday evening. GAB spokesman Reid Magney says she filed more than 4,000 names.
Kloppenburg, Donald and Bradley all are vying to fill the late Justice Patrick Crooks’ seat. The primary is Feb. 16. The two top vote-getters will advance to the April 5 general election.
