MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A teenager has pleaded guilty to killing his ex-girlfriend’s sister and her mother’s boyfriend in Dane County.
Eighteen-year-old Dean Sutcliffe entered the pleas Tuesday to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. Sutcliffe was accused of fatally shooting 16-year-old Ariyl Brady and 39-year-old Christopher Schwichtenberg at a trailer home near Mazomanie last February.
Dane County Circuit Judge David Flanagan ordered a presentence investigation. Sentencing is scheduled for March 18. A life sentence is mandatory for the homicide conviction, but the judge will decide whether Sutcliffe is eventually eligible for release under supervision.
According to a criminal complaint, Sutcliffe blamed the breakup with his girlfriend on the victims.
