MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Dane County judge set bond at $1 million for the defendant accused of fatally shooting a man following an argument on a party bus in Madison.

Antonio Stanley made his initial appearance in court Monday. The 33-year-old is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the Dec. 12 death of 28-year-old Samuel Erving.

According to a criminal complaint, Erving and Stanley were on a party bus heading back to Madison from Milwaukee when the two argued over a cigarette. It says Stanley shot Erving 17 times when the two got off the bus in the parking lot of AutoZone. Stanley’s attorney says his client turned himself in when he learned there was a warrant for his arrest.

Another man is accused of providing the gun to Stanley.
