MILWAUKEE (AP) — The lead attorney for a pair of seriously wounded Milwaukee police officers suing a gun shop for negligence says a jury should award his clients several million dollars in damages.
Patrick Dunphy said in closing arguments Monday that Badger Guns acted negligently in selling a weapon to a straw buyer that was used to shoot his clients.
Lawyers for the owner and operators of the shop say they can’t be held liable for wrongdoing committed with a weapon they sold. They will present their closing statements Monday afternoon.
Officer Bryan Norberg and Graham Kunisch were both shot in the face.
Dunphy says Norberg deserves more than $2 million for his wounds. He says Kunisch should get $5.6 million.
