MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A former assistant principal at La Follette High School is suing the Madison School District over her demotion to a job in the district office.
Kelly Lynaugh filed a lawsuit Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Madison, alleging she was demoted in 2013 because of a medical condition and because she’s a woman. She’s seeking to be reinstated as assistant principal and to be paid for missed time on the job, as well as damages.
School district spokeswoman Rachel Strauch-Nelson tells the Wisconsin State Journal that the district hasn’t been served with the lawsuit.
She says Lynaugh became assistant principal in 1997 but she hasn’t worked for the school district since June 2014.
