A federal judge has sentenced a Milwaukee man to 15 years in prison for having a firearm even though he had been previously convicted a felony.
Justin Nalls, 27, appeared in federal court on Monday in Green Bay, according to a news release, and was sentenced for possessing a firearm despite his previous felony conviction. He was convicted in 2005 in state court of two armed robberies and of burglary in 2009. Nalls faced between 15 years and life in prison.
He was arrested in October 2014 in connection to the armed robbery of a Kewaunee County tavern, according to the release. Further investigation linked Nalls to two other robberies, one in Sheboygan County and the other in the city of Milwaukee.
Nalls and a female associate, according to the release, placed prostiution ads online and robbed at gunpoint those who responded. At his home, law enforcement officials found a loaded revolver and ammunition, both of which are illegal for felons to posses.
