MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The new chief judge of Minnesota’s federal court system says all U.S. District Court judges and magistrates in the state will be disqualified from presiding over the case of a man accused of using his Twitter account to threaten law enforcement officers.

Prosecutors say Mahamed Abukar Said made the threats after several of his friends were arrested on terrorism charges in April.

Chief U.S. District Judge John Tunheim made the decision because threats were allegedly made against Minnesota’s U.S. attorney.

It’s not immediately clear which judge will hear Said’s case.

The case is already being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Wisconsin to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

Said has pleaded not guilty and his attorney has said it wasn’t clear whom the alleged threat was against.
