MARSHFIELD, Wis. (AP) — A judge has ruled against a former Marshfield High School dance coach who claimed she was fired because she’s a woman.

The school district fired Lisa Joling in 2013 after she used an edited version of the controversial “Blurred Lines” song in a performance. Critics say the song is demeaning to women.

Joling filed a complaint with the state Equal Rights Office claimed she was discriminated against because she’s a woman. She noted that male coaches were not fired for playing similar music.

News-Herald Media says an administrative law judge ruled late Tuesday that Joling failed to prove her case. Joling can ask for a review of the judge’s decision by petitioning the state’s Labor and Industry Review Commission within 21 days.
