MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A state appeals court has upheld a $4.6 million judgment against a travel club operation for misleading its members.

State authorities accused Travel Services Inc., which operates various clubs that offer members travel discounts, of deceptive practices in 2010. According to court documents, witnesses testified that the clubs’ prize vouchers were worthless or unusable and they could get better discounts online. Outagamie County Circuit Judge Dee Dyer ordered Travel Services to pay $3.8 million in restitution and $841,599 in forfeitures last year.

The 3rd District Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that the state presented enough evidence to support the award and the judge didn’t act improperly.

Travel Services’ attorney, Steven Biskupic, didn’t immediately respond to an email Tuesday seeking comment.
