BELOIT, Wis. (AP) — A gunman who shot and killed a man standing outside his grandmother’s house in Beloit has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Jajuan Logan apologized to the victim’s family during his sentencing hearing in Rock County Circuit Court on Thursday and told them he was sorry “everything went this far.”
The 20-year-old Logan was convicted of second-degree reckless homicide in the April 25 death of Raymond Holloway. Judge John Murphy sentenced Logan to 10 years for the homicide and two years on a weapons charge. Logan faced a maximum 35 years in prison.
The Beloit Daily News reports Logan was a passenger in a vehicle and shot Holloway who was with friends outside the house. Logan testified previously that he saw Holloway with a gun and that’s when he shot him.
