MADISON, Wis. (AP) — U.S. Attorney James Santelle says his office collected a little more than $14 million through criminal and civil collections and asset forfeitures during the last federal fiscal year.
Santelle, who is based in Milwaukee, is responsible for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, which includes the eastern half of the state. He said during the year that ended Sept. 30 his office collected $2.5 million in criminal cases, $4.6 million in civil matters, and $7 million in forfeiture proceedings.
He said his office collected an additional $731,000 by partnering with other federal prosecutors on cases.
