MADISON, Wis. (AP) — New campaign finance reports show Democrat Susan Happ raised more money than Republican Brad Schimel over the last three months of the state attorney general race.
The report show that Happ, Jefferson County’s district attorney, raised $640,881 between July 29 and Oct. 20. She spent $637,309 and had $135,403 on hand. She’s raised $854,211 and spent $720,399 since the beginning of the year.
Schimel, Waukesha County’s district attorney, raised $580,508, spent $609,472 and had $389,340 on hand. He has raised $1 million and spent $785,423 since the beginning of the year.
Happ and Schimel will square off in the Nov. 4 election for the right to replace outgoing Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen.
