A Madison civil litigator will replace Maryann Sumi on the Dane County bench, according to a release from Gov. Scott Walker’s office.
Josann Reynolds is a partner at Sipsma, Hahn & Brophy LLC, Madison. She was appointed to replace Sumi, who stepped down in May after 30 years as a judge.
Reynolds graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1981. Prior to her current job, Reynolds lived in Australia for a decade, according to a news release.
Reynolds will have to run for election in April if she wants to stay on the bench.
