MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 45-year-old Milwaukee man has been found guilty of sex trafficking, child abuse and related charges.

A jury convicted Roy Weatherall on Thursday of 14 counts following an eight-day trial in Milwaukee County court. Charges include sexual assault of a child, soliciting prostitutes, reckless injury and witness intimidation. The only count he was acquitted of was false imprisonment.

Weatherall faces a maximum sentence of more than 200 years in prison.

Teenage girls testified during the trial that he lured them into prostitution with promises of love and security, as well as violent threats. The district attorney says he targeted very vulnerable young women.

Weatherall’s attorney focused on alleged inconsistencies in the physical evidence during his closing arguments.

Weatherall was arrested last fall after a victim’s mother contacted the FBI.
