EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — One of three men accused of burying a homicide victim in Rusk County has been sentenced to a year in prison.

A judge also sentenced 50-year-old Timothy Zamsky, of Holcombe, to three years of extended supervision. Zamsky and three others were charged with hiding the body of Frederick Harvey. The 52-year-old victim was strangled in his trailer home in August of 2012. Prosecutors say it involved a dispute over money.

Defense attorney Mandy Caffee told the judge that Zamsky is a rather simple-minded person who was manipulated by the man convicted of killing Harvey, Larry Fernandez.

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram says Zamsky apologized to the victim’s family in Rusk County Circuit Court on Monday.
