WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — A judge from outside Marathon County will hear the case of the 16-year-old girl accused of crashing her SUV east of Wausau, killing two 12-year-old passengers.

The girl appeared in Marathon County juvenile court Wednesday. Prosecutors asked for a change of venue because all the Marathon County judges know the girl’s grandparents, so the case will be heard by Judge Michael Bloom of Oneida County.

Court officials haven’t released the girl’s name or the charges against her because she’s in juvenile court.

Authorities say she was driving without a license Friday with nine passengers, ages 12 to 17. She allegedly lost control and the vehicle rolled several times.

Two girls died, and a boy who’d been in critical condition was upgraded to serious condition Wednesday. The other seven were treated at hospitals and released.
