MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican attorney general candidate Brad Schimel had $418,000 in the bank at the end of July.
Candidates must file campaign finance reports by midnight Monday detailing their fundraising and spending in July. Schimel’s report indicates he raised $53,970 and spent $36,000.
Schimel is the lone Republican candidate in the race. Three Democrats — Jon Richards, Susan Happ and Ismael Ozanne — will square off in an Aug. 12 primary for the right to face Schimel in the November general election.
Richards’ July report shows he had $167,000 on hand at the end of the month. He raised $37,000 and spent $39,700.
Ozanne and Happ’s campaigns hadn’t filed anything by late afternoon. Ozanne’s campaign didn’t immediately return a message. Happ’s campaign manager says her camp is still finishing her report.
