MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne is far behind three other candidates in raising money in the race for attorney general.
Ozanne’s latest campaign finance report filed late Monday shows he had only $3,400 cash on hand in July after raising just $39,000 through the first six months of the year.
Both of his Democratic primary challengers raised at least four times as much.
Democratic state Rep. Jon Richards, of Milwaukee, reported raising $190,000 and having nearly $170,000 cash on hand. Susan Happ, the Jefferson County district attorney, reported raising $170,000 and having nearly $121,000 cash on hand.
The only Republican in the race, Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel, outraised all of them. Schimel reported raising nearly $367,000 with $400,000 on hand as of July.
