Who’s Doing What: Attorneys promoted; Peterson named MBA president

Edward Evans, Katrina Hull, Thomas Janczewski, Plymouth Nelson, Kirk Pelikan and Leah Ziemba were promoted to partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, Milwaukee.

Evans practices in the firm’s Waukesha office and focuses on the prosecution of U.S. and international patent application involving mechanical subject matter. Prior to becoming an attorney, Evans worked at Michael Best for several years as a patent engineer. He earned his law degree in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Hull practices in the firm’s Milwaukee office and focuses on trademark and copyright law. She earned her law degree in 2005 from the University of Kansas School of Law.

wdw-070814Janczewski practices in the firm’s Milwaukee office and concentrates on federal contracting law. He earned his law degree in 2005 from George Washington University Law School.

Nelson practices in the firm’s Waukesha office and focuses on U.S. and international patent prosecution. He has extensive experience in patentability analysis. He earned his law degree in 2003 from William Mitchell College of Law.

Pelikan practices in the firm’s Milwaukee office and has experience assisting clients with benefits and labor, as well as employment issues. He earned his law degree in 2004 from Marquette University Law School.

Ziemba is a member of the transactional practice group; land and resources group; agribusiness, food and beverage group; and the energy industry group. She practices in the firm’s Madison office and earned her law degree in 2006 from Syracuse University.

Jeffrey Evans, Laurel Johnson, Kelly Noyes and Lauren Triebenbach were promoted to shareholders at von Briesen & Roper SC, Milwaukee.

Evans is a shareholder in the litigation and risk management practice group. He focuses on the preparation of insurance coverage opinions, insurance coverage litigation and general tort litigation. Evans also has extensive experience defending legal malpractice claims. He earned his law degree in 1989 from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Johnson is a shareholder in the litigation and risk management practice group. She focuses on toxic tort, insurance coverage and general litigation matters. Johnson has litigation experience in state and federal cases locally and nationally. She earned her law degree in 2007 from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Noyes is a shareholder in the firm’s litigation and risk management practice group. Noyes represents businesses, banks, hospitals and health care systems in a variety of litigation matters including contract disputes, business torts, non-compete agreements, insurance coverage, ERISA, environmental disputes, collections, appellate work, and toxic torts. Noyes earned her law degree in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Triebenbach practice focuses on assisting clients in both commercial and residential real estate and construction matters, and assisting lenders with documenting and restructuring large loan transactions. She earned her law degree in 2007 from Marquette University Law School.

David Peterson, a shareholder at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren SC, Milwaukee, was elected president of the Milwaukee Bar Association. Peterson is a member of the MBA’s Board of Directors whose previous service to the association includes serving as president-elect and vice president.

Peterson, a shareholder in Reinhart’s litigation practice, is based at the firm’s Waukesha office. He focuses primarily on disputes involving commercial litigation, environmental remediation and product liability. He earned his law degree in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Bradley Fulton assumed the role of president and managing partner of DeWitt Ross & Stevens SC, Madison, and its affiliate, DeWitt Mackall Crounse & Moore SC, on July 1.

Fulton’s predecessor, Bradley Raaths, will remain in a strategic role on the firm’s executive committee.

Fulton, a business litigator who specializes in labor and employment law, joined the firm in 1991. He began his career with DeWitt as a mailroom clerk, then worked as a law clerk while earning his law degree from Marquette University Law School.

The firm also announced that Brody Richter was promoted to partner. Richter, who joined the firm in 2005, practices in the areas of business, real estate and land use, private securities, franchise, product distribution and licensing. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Bill Rameker, an attorney at Murphy Desmond SC, Madison, was elected to serve on the board of directors of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees for a three-year term. Rameker’s practice focuses on creditors’ rights, business bankruptcy and reorganizations. He earned his law degree in 1972 from the University of Iowa College of Law.

Jordan Corning joined Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC‘s litigation practice group. Corning is an attorney in the Madison office of the firm, where he is a member of the business and commercial litigation team. Corning earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

• Seven attorneys and paralegals joined Stafford Rosenbaum LLP’s Madison office. David Billing (Marquette University Law School, 1977); Laura Callan (Marquette University Law School, 1986); Tom Solheim (University of Wisconsin Law School, 1976); and Jim Statz (University of Wisconsin Law School, 1986) joined as partners. Eileen Kelley (University of Wisconsin Law School, 2011) joined as an associate, and Cynthia Draeger and Susan Tuohy joined as paralegals.
