Wisconsin will receive $1,958,888.19 through a settlement with GlaxoSmithKline LLC over allegations the company illegally promoted its drugs.

The company, which is based in England but has its U.S. headquarters in Philadelphia, has agreed to settle with 45 states for a total of $105 million, according to a news release from Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen’s office. GlaxoSmithKline is accused of violating laws for its drug Adivar, as well as antidepressant drugs Paxil and Wellbutrin, by misrepresenting the drugs’ uses and quantities.

Per the settlement agreement, the company is not allowed to make any false claims about its products and will continue its Patient First Program, which reduces incentives for sales representatives to engage in misleading marketing, through March 1, 2019.

The Wisconsin case is in front of Dane County Circuit Judge John Albert. He has not yet signed off on the settlement.
